Two ways to protect it

Line-interactive or true online

PowerShield designs its range for the power conditions of Australia and the wider Oceania region. Every model rides through a blackout; the difference is how clean the power is the rest of the time, and we choose on the equipment and how long it must keep going.

Line-interactive UPS

The UPS boosts or trims the mains with automatic voltage regulation and only goes to battery when the power fails or strays too far. Right for comms cabinets, alarm panels, door controllers and smaller recorders.

  • Defender, 650 to 2000 VA, with batteries you can change on site
  • Defender Rackmount 1500: shallow depth with a 10-year battery
  • Commander Tower and RT, 1100 to 3000 VA, pure sine wave output
  • Extra battery banks for longer runtime on Commander RT

The Centurion range

True online UPS

Double conversion feeds the equipment from the inverter all the time, so it sees steady, clean power whether the mains is good, noisy or gone. This is the choice for recorders, servers and core switches that cannot drop out.

  • Centurion Tower and RT, with lead-acid or LiFePO4 batteries
  • Centurion RT LiFePO4, standard and Long Run models
  • Centurion Pro three-phase, 10 to 80 kVA, with dual mains input
  • Platinum Modular systems for the largest loads
Beyond the battery

Knowing what the UPS is doing

A UPS that fails quietly protects nothing. These are the PowerShield features that report on the power, the batteries and the room, and keep runtime matched to the job.

NetGuard monitoring

NetGuard is free monitoring software for the SafeGuard, Defender, Commander and Centurion RT ranges, for Windows, Mac and Linux. It shows how the mains, the battery and the load are behaving from a computer on site.

Alerts on your phone

PowerShield monitoring can send alerts by email to a phone or a computer, so a UPS that goes to battery at a remote gatehouse or comms room does not go unnoticed.

On the network

SNMP cards put a UPS on the network for monitoring and scheduled shutdowns, start-ups and reboots. The V4 card works with VMware, Hyper-V and Modbus TCP/IP, and the Cyber Secure card follows the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s ISM framework.

Rack temperature and humidity

The PSEMD environmental sensor plugs into the SNMP V4 card to watch temperature and humidity in the rack. Two dry contact inputs take signals from other sensors, such as a cabinet door switch.

Lithium batteries

Lithium iron phosphate batteries last longer, weigh less and recharge faster than lead-acid, and PowerShield backs its LiFePO4 models with a five-year warranty. Long Run versions take an added battery bank where a site must ride through a long outage.

Fits a shallow rack

Security cabinets are often too shallow for a standard rack UPS. The Defender Rackmount 1500 is built for them, and the Ninja Slimline, a 600 VA LiFePO4 unit only 42 mm thick, fits switchboards and other tight spaces.

Recorders, switches, door controllers, alarm panels and gate motors sit behind a PowerShield UPS sized for the runtime you need. An SNMP card or NetGuard reports the power and the rack conditions, so the right people know as soon as the mains drops.

What Teracom does on a PowerShield job

  1. Size it

The load of every recorder, switch and controller added up and the runtime worked out, then the model, battery type and any battery banks chosen to suit.

  2. Install and commission

Racked or placed, wired to the right circuits and tested on battery, with SNMP cards and sensors set up on the network.

  3. Connect to monitoring

On-battery and fault signals can be wired to the alarm panel, so a power loss reaches our monitoring centre.

  4. Look after it

Battery checks and replacements on a maintenance plan, with products registered for the free warranty upgrade where it applies.

Why Teracom works with PowerShield

Clean power, engineered for Australian conditions.

Built for Australian Conditions

PowerShield designs its UPS and power filtration range specifically for the Australian and Oceania region, rather than adapting overseas products to local conditions.

Local Engineering, Local Support

As a fully Australian owned and operated company based in Malaga, WA, PowerShield backs every install with local, professional support rather than an offshore call centre.

Trusted in Mission-Critical Sectors

PowerShield equipment protects radio stations, government, defense, security, healthcare, mining, process control and server rooms across the region.

LiFePO4 Battery Technology

Lithium iron phosphate battery options extend UPS lifespan and come backed by a 5-year warranty, well beyond the 2-year standard on lead-acid models.

Warranty You Can Extend for Free

Registering a Commander or Centurion single-phase unit unlocks a free warranty upgrade, PowerShield's way of standing behind its own build quality.

PowerShield is an Australian power protection company that designs and manufactures uninterruptible power systems (UPS) and power filtration products specifically for the Australian market, rather than adapting an overseas range. The focus is on delivering clean, reliable power quality, and that focus -- combined with strong customer support -- has helped PowerShield grow into one of Australia's largest independent UPS manufacturers.

The range spans from smaller line-interactive units for individual equipment protection up to true online double-conversion tower and rack UPS systems with hot-swappable batteries, suiting everything from single-device backup through to larger security, IT and access control installations that need power protection they can rely on.
