Two kinds of door station

Single-entry door stations, or multi-apartment panels

Both are SIP devices, so they ring desk phones, softphones and indoor monitors on the network you already have. The choice comes down to how many people each entrance has to call.

Features

What a Beward intercom does

Beward puts the intelligence in the door station itself, so face recognition and door control do not depend on a server or the internet. These are the features that matter most on site.

Face recognition at the door

The DS06A compares each face with up to 30 enrolled people and opens the door on a match. It all runs on the device, so it still works if the network or the internet drops.

Calls to any SIP device

Calls go to any SIP device: desk phones through an IP-PBX, softphones, indoor monitors or the free BEWARD Intercom app. A visitor can even be let in from an ordinary mobile by pressing a key.

Locks, gates and lights

The DSxxxP-3L controller adds three relay outputs to a DS door station for a door, a gate or barrier, and lights or a siren. Running on PoE, it can also supply 12 V to the lock.

Old intercoms onto IP

The DK103M converter turns an existing 4-wire analogue door station into a SIP video intercom, so it can ring phones and the app and open the door without replacing the panel outside.

Recording and motion alerts

Each door station records to its own microSD card, watches up to four motion zones, and can send clips and snapshots to an FTP server or record into Beward’s free software.

What Teracom does on a Beward job

  1. Design

Door stations, monitors and controllers chosen for each entrance, with the SIP set-up planned around your phone system and network.

  2. Install and commission

Units mounted, cabled and powered, faces and cards enrolled, and every call path and lock tested before handover.

  3. Connect it up

Calls routed to the right phones and monitors, and locks, gates and barriers wired to the controller outputs so each entrance works as one.

  4. Look after it

Firmware updates, user and face changes and health checks handled on a maintenance plan, so the system stays current and supported.

Why Teracom works with Beward

Enterprise video intercoms, built for reliability.

Enterprise-Only Focus

Beward explicitly excludes low-cost consumer-grade IP video gear from its lineup, engineering instead for professional and enterprise security deployments.

Standalone Face Recognition

The DS Series door stations run facial recognition locally on the device -- access decisions still work with no network or internet connection.

Efficient Video Compression

Beward's B1000-series systems are built to use 20-30% less bandwidth and up to 30% less storage than standard systems, while delivering higher image quality.

ISO 9001 Manufacturing

Production, warranty service and software development all run under ISO 9001:2015 certification, backed by a factory defect rate under 1%.

Built for Local Conditions

Beward engineers its hardware for local climate, power and market conditions rather than shipping a one-size-fits-all global spec.

Multi-Actuator Access Control

DS06MP-series door stations can drive up to three actuators from one unit -- doors, gates, barriers and alarms -- cutting the extra hardware other intercoms need.

Beward was established in 2004 as a developer and manufacturer of IP cameras, and has since built up a strong line of IP intercom and door station products alongside its camera range. Its IP video intercoms combine access control and two-way talk with an IP camera for motion alarm and recording, and its facial recognition models allow automatic access without any extra hardware -- the whole system can run on an existing LAN with no internet connection required, or extend to WAN use with DDNS and UPnP support.

Beward's intercom units support a 3-channel controller for connecting third-party devices such as electric locks, lights or a garage door, and are compatible with any SIP-based phone system or PBX, alongside free management software and Android/iOS apps. For sites still running analog door stations, Beward also makes converters -- including a 4-wire analog-to-SIP converter -- that turn an existing analog video door station into a SIP video intercom controllable from a PC or smartphone.
