Tecom and Axon, both on UltraSync

Aritech sells two panel families in Australia. Tecom is the local range that Challenger sites have grown up on; Axon is Aritech’s newer intrusion and access panel, sold worldwide. We help you choose on site size, the hardware already on the wall and how you want to manage it.

ChallengerPlus and Discovery

Tecom

A ChallengerPlus or Discovery panel sits at the centre, with door, lift and input modules added on its data bus as the site grows. Users, start and end dates and door groups live in the panel itself, so access rules still apply when the software link is down.

  • ChallengerPlus: up to 99 areas, 128 doors and 98 lifts
  • Discovery: the DIN-rail panel set up from a web browser
  • Network Access Controllers for four or eight doors or lifts
  • WMS Pro web software for up to 600 controllers

Intrusion, access and video

Axon

One panel for alarms, doors and links to video, set up from a browser on a phone, tablet or PC with guided wizards. It joins UltraSync out of the box over Ethernet or a SIM, so panels can be checked and supported remotely.

  • 16 zones on the board, up to 256 in total
  • Up to 8 doors on the panel, more with CDC4 controllers
  • Wired and wireless detectors, with plug-on expanders
  • Scheduled health checks through UltraSync
What it does

What an Aritech system does day to day

The panel is only the start. These are the parts of the range that change how a site actually runs, from the front door to the monitoring centre.

Doors and lifts on one controller

A Network Access Controller runs up to eight doors or lifts and up to 100 floors. It takes OSDP v2 readers and Aperio or Salto wireless locks, and when run straight from software it holds 250,000 users on board.

Site maps

WMS Pro lets you upload a floor plan and place doors, areas and inputs on it, so guards, reception and managers can see what is happening and act on it from the drawing.

Alarm handling in the browser

Alarms from one panel or many sites arrive in one web page, ranked and colour-coded, with sound, email and full-screen alerts. Reports run on a schedule and go out by email or as PDF and CSV.

Your system on your phone

The TecomPlus app reaches the panel through UltraSync. Arm and disarm areas, open doors, isolate inputs, add users and cards, and watch TruVision cameras live, with push alerts for alarms and power faults.

Cameras that ignore the wind

TruVision M series cameras tell people and vehicles apart from animals, moving branches and shadows, so far fewer false events reach the recorder and the app. Up to 8 MP, with fixed or motorised lenses.

More than one place to report

A ChallengerPlus panel can report down ten paths at once, each filtered by area, event and time. Tenants sharing one panel can each send alarms to their own monitoring provider.

What Teracom does on an Aritech job

  1. Design

Panel, expanders and door controllers sized from the site drawings, with areas, door groups and lift floors planned before anything is ordered.

  2. Install and commission

Panels, readers and detectors installed and cabled, every input walk-tested, and WMS Pro set up with your floor plans and access groups.

  3. Connect to monitoring

Alarms can come through to our monitoring centre for after-hours response, over UltraSync or a direct IP path.

  4. Look after it

Firmware, battery tests and user changes handled on a maintenance plan, including staged upgrades from older Challenger hardware.

Why Teracom works with Aritech

Modular security engineered to grow with your site.

One Platform, Every Layer

Tecom/Forcefield unifies intrusion, access control and video into a single integrated system, so operators manage doors, alarms, cameras, recorders and intercoms from one screen instead of juggling separate consoles.

Add-As-You-Grow Design

Challenger's modular architecture lets you add door or lift controllers, I/O expanders, memory expanders and LAN devices to the same panel, scaling from a single site to an enterprise footprint without ripping anything out.

Proven Since 1989

The Challenger control panel has protected Australian and New Zealand sites since 1989, and the current ChallengerPlus and Discovery ranges are built directly on that same field-tested architecture.

Upgrade, Don't Replace

ChallengerPlus and Discovery are designed so existing Tecom customers can move up in hardware and capability while protecting their original investment, including the ability to revert to Challenger10 firmware if needed.

Designed and Made in Australia

Discovery hardware is designed, developed and manufactured in Australia, keeping engineering and production close to the market it serves.

Aritech is the brand under which Kidde Global Solutions now sells the Tecom Challenger security platform -- a modular intrusion and access control system Teracom has worked with for years under its earlier Tecom Challenger name. At the heart of a Challenger system is the Challenger panel itself: a modular, "add as you go" design that scales by adding intelligent door and lift controllers, input/output expanders, memory expanders and LAN devices as a site grows, with multiple panels able to link together under one piece of management software. That means a solution can start at a single office and expand to a multi-site environment without being re-engineered from scratch, combining intrusion detection, access control and video surveillance integration into one interface.

The current hardware range covers a few tiers. The Network Access Controller manages door and access requirements and supports intrusion applications, and can connect directly to management software or to a ChallengerPlus panel for combined access and intrusion capability. ChallengerPlus is the higher-capacity option, built for commercial and corporate environments such as banks, retail and education, with thousands of programmable options and compatibility with UltraSync and the TecomPlus mobile app. ChallengerLEPlus is the compact, cost-effective version for locations where panel space is limited, offering most of the same advanced features along with an encrypted UltraSync connection to a monitoring station and mobile app control.

On the software side, installers can program a Challenger system on site or remotely over a modem or IP connection, and end users manage doors, alarms and video surveillance through Security Commander, including an interactive map of the building for quick operator control. The TecomPlus mobile app extends day-to-day control to a phone -- arming and disarming areas, opening doors, isolating inputs and checking input/relay status -- and the wider software suite provides integrated management across multiple systems from one place.
